Original character design for my story! Neeta is the sow, the goddess of hearth and home and mirth. She is aligned with the earth and watches over mothers and their children. Her own piglets function like Roman genii, each acting as a guardian for some aspect of a happy home: one tends the garden, one mends the clothes, one cares for pets and shooes away pests, etc. (The youngest of her piglets are the triplet spirits of the kitchen, each of whom is responsible for a specific food group and tool set. However, they all work together to bake — and then devour — sweets.)Neeta is a gentle goddess, one who advocates peace but still graciously welcomes the more warlike gods into her home. In times when the world is in extreme peril, though, she has been known to ally with the monkey war goddess Surila, and they are a force to be reckoned with.
