Taking a break from animating because I finally figured out what Cobie Smulders’s bit on the gag reel reminded me of.

Prohibition Thor! For some reason, I got this image of him as a mountain man in my head that just wouldn’t go away. The big inspirations here are pretty obvious: design-wise, I kind of just stole Forrest Bondurant’s wardrobe (#the most dangerous sweaters in all of virginia), and the porch sketch with Odin is a nod to Anthony Hopkins’ role as another gruff old patriarch in Legends of the Fall. (C’mon. Prohibition Odin wearing a bear skin, saying “sccccreeew the government?”. It’s perfect.) Other stuff from this AU: SHIELD | Natasha | Natasha and Clint

Steve holds one up, confused — they’re all by the same author. Bruce just smiles and says he thinks Steve’ll like them. They’re about the war. Sort of. Later, he’ll think that’s a roundabout way to put it. Later, he’ll suspect that they weren’t chosen on their historical or literary merit; that Bruce knew he’d understand what they say about the human heart, and what it means to become unstuck in time.
